Carlos Powell's 40 Point Night, T-Birds beat D-Fenders 115-111
Dar Tucker throws down one of the best dunks of the season but it was Carlos Powell who had the record night. Powell led the way for Albuquerque with 40 points as the team led from start to finish. The Albuquerque Thunderbirds defeated the Los Angeles D-Fenders 115 111 on Sunday night. Los Angeles cut the lead to single digits late in the fourth, but Albuquerque was able to hold on for the four point win. Joe Crawford paced the D-Fenders with 24 points, while Diamon Simpson added 18. Powells 40 points is the most scored in a single game in the NBA Development League this season. Chad Toppert (16), Kevin Pittsnogle (15), Keith McLeod (14) and Yaroslav Korolev (10) also scored in double figures for Albuquerque. The Thunderbirds will again take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Dec. 29. The game will start at 4:30 pm MT, and fans can either listen in on 1050 KTBL or watch the game live on NBA Futurecast.Published 8 months ago
